Patsy is a long-time supporter of responsible use of our natural resources. As a Buncombe County commissioner, Patsy voted to protect property values and natural resources through reasonable zoning. She led the push to begin recycling in Buncombe County, including in the public schools when she was a teacher. As your Representative in Congress, Patsy will:

• Support alternate energy sources, such as solar and wind energy.
• Protect our rivers and wetlands to ensure the viability of these vital resources.
• Support sustainable development that will encourage a new green economy in North Carolina.
• Support alternate transportation initiatives, such as public transit and more bike-friendly roads, in order to reduce vehicular emissions and fossil fuel consumption and to provide additional transportation options for those who need them.
